The foundation of a safe and satisfying birth begins with quality prenatal care. At Wasatch Midwifery, we prioritize time and attention, ensuring every client receives personalized care that meets their needs.

During prenatal appointments, our midwives conduct thorough clinical assessments, handle routine lab work, and create individualized care plans tailored to your pregnancy. Clients can expect continuous support, including 24/7 on-call access to their midwife for pregnancy-related questions, emergencies, and extra visits if needed.

For those opting for home births, we also include a dedicated home visit before delivery to prepare and ensure every detail is in place.

By the time labor begins, our team knows you, your needs, and your hopes for the birth experience. Each delivery is supported by a licensed midwife and trained birth assistant. Doulas and additional support people welcomed to participate.

In our modern birthing suites, we ensure your safety and comfort by providing essential equipment, emergency medications, and nonpharmacologic pain relief options. From warm water submersion to personalized labor support, we follow evidence-based practices to honor your birth plan while encouraging freedom of movement, skin-to-skin bonding, and delayed cord clamping.

Our care continues immediately after delivery, with our team staying 4–6 hours to perform examinations and ensure you and your baby are thriving. Before heading home, parents are given comprehensive education on postpartum recovery, newborn care, and are scheduled for their first postpartum visit.

The postpartum period is a time of transition, healing, and bonding, and at Wasatch Midwifery, we’re here to guide and support you every step of the way. Our standard postpartum care includes five personalized visits, starting with an in-home visit 24–36 hours after birth and continuing at 3 days, 1 week, 2 weeks, and 6 weeks.

During these visits, we focus on both mother and baby, providing well-baby checks, lactation support, postpartum mood monitoring, and nutritional counseling. Newborn metabolic, hearing, and heart screenings are conducted as required by Utah law, and we ensure parents have the tools and education they need to navigate this tender phase with confidence.

We care for the parent and baby together, offering dynamic guidance to enhance recovery, nurture bonding, and support the overall well-being of your growing family.
